The Handmaid’s Tale is filled with shocking moments, but nothing was quite as shocking as when one of the handmaids decided to bomb a building filled with commanders. The moment happened back in Season 2 and started a ripple effect of change.
In the video above, O-T Fagbenle, who plays Luke, and other actors and producers discuss the emotional funeral that came after the bombing and how it affected everything going on in Canada.
“In the aftermath of the handmaid bombing, we open with a funeral. The world is all snow white and all of the handmaids are black and it’s quite striking. There’s a visual poetry to how the entire funeral plays,” producer Warren Littlefield says.
