It’s only June, but Hallmark is already thinking about Halloween. It’s no surprise, considering the network gets ready for Christmas in July. Spooky season is about to return to the channel in a big way. All My Children alum Lacey Chabert is starring in a new Halloween movie.
Spooky Girl Season
Forget about Hot Girl Summer. It’s Spooky Girl Season, according to Chabert. The Mean Girls alum starred in a new holiday movie that’s airing during October. Hallmark wants to expand its Haul Out the Holly movie franchise in an unexpected way. The film will premiere later this year as part of Hallmark’s Fall Into Love event. Here’s the full synopsis, according to Soaps.com.

However, it has a surprise twist. Chabert is joining co-stars Ellen Travolta, Melissa Peterman, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Wes Brown for this latest installment in the Haul Out the Holly franchise. They will be joined by Kimberly Brown and her husband, Danie Kountz. Fun fact: They starred in the Disney Channel’s Halloweentown movies.
Halloween Time
This is a bold move for the network that’s been focused on the Most Wonderful Time of the Year. It seemed as if Hallmark strayed from Halloween movies and television shows. The last two Halloween movies were Haunted Wedding and 3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost.
Fans would love to see more spooky content, including The Good Witch. However, the series was canceled in July 2021 after seven seasons. Despite its ever-growing popularity, Hallmark decided to end the beloved series, which became a cult classic. Fans are holding out hope for a Good Witch reunion.
Hallmark wanted to avoid producing Halloween movies. The network believed that it was just about horror and scares, which isn’t always true. Halloween can also be one of the most magical times of the year, just like Christmas. However, it is becoming one of the biggest holidays of the year, which is probably why the network is gravitating towards it again.
