Game of Thrones fans know that a Lannister always pays his debts, but in real life, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who played Jaime Lannister on the iconic HBO show, is trying to prevent his fans from being scammed!
The actor shared a video post on Monday warning his fans about online scammers who are posing as him and trying to get people to invest in bitcoin. It’s a strange plot almost worthy of the hit show.
“Hey guys, I hope you’re enjoying the summer. Apparently, there are a lot of ads on social media where I am encouraging people to invest in bitcoins and all kinds of stuff,” he said in the video.
“I have nothing to do with those ads, they’re all fake, as I’m sure most of you will already know if you’ve seen them. But in case you doubt it or for a second even thought about maybe clicking on those things or exploring it, don’t. It’s fake. It’s some sad people trying to make an easy buck.”
Coster-Waldau also captioned the video with the following: “Hey, hola, buomgiono, hej,. If you see an ad online featuring me trying to sell bitcoins or any investment opportunity. Don’t. ITS FAKE. A SCAM. And Now – go back to enjoying the summer.”
Many fans thanked the actor on his post for warning them. This also comes just a couple of weeks after the star snagged his second Emmy nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series.
Though Game of Thrones has wrapped for good, we’ll get to see most of the cast reunite at the 2019 Primetime Emmys on Sunday, September 22, since so many of them have been nominated in the various categories.
