Kit Harington not only snagged the role of a lifetime thanks to Game of Thrones, but he also met his wife, Rose Leslie. The couple, who met while playing love interests during Season 4 through Season 6, attended the Season 8 premiere in New York City together on Wednesday, April 3.
Though they only got to share the screen together as Jon and Ygritte for a few seasons, it was enough time for the two actors to fall in love and decide to get married. In fact, the happy couple officially tied the knot in June 2018 and looked absolutely gorgeous together at the premiere.
“I said to Rose the other night, I was like, ‘We’ve been tethered by this show, a long time we’ve loved it. And now we get to enjoy the final hurrah,” he told Entertainment Tonight during the Season 8 premiere.
“It, in some ways, has ended for us. When we finished filming, we said goodbye to it, so this sort of feels like an added bonus that we get to watch it and celebrate it now.”

And, not only is the Season 8 premiere happening April 14, Harington is staying in New York City to host Saturday Night Live on Saturday, April 6. Needless to say, it’s a total dream come true for the handsome actor.
“It’s brilliant. That’s a dream come true. I could hear the crowd of people cheering the final season of my show while I was doing the read-through for SNL. That was a bizarre moment for me,” he shared.
His co-star (who plays his on-screen sister, Sansa), Sophie Turner, jokingly shared words of encouragement as any real-life sibling might do. “I think he’s gonna do terribly. He’s not funny, he’s not smart. I think he’s gonna be terrible! No, I’m kidding. He’s gonna kill it. I’m so excited to see it,” she shared.”
