Get ready Game of Thrones fans, the Season 8 premiere is happening tonight! Most of the cast will be reuniting on Wednesday, April 3 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City to celebrate the return of the HBO series.
Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) were spotted together in New York following an appearance on Good Morning America. Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) was on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, April 2, and a number of other cast members were spotted grabbing dinner in Manhattan, making it feel like Westeros!
Not to mention, in celebration of the season premiere, HBO has imported a giant Iron Throne and it’s currently being shown at Rockefeller Center, where fans have been taking pictures of themselves with the iconic piece and sharing all over social media!
“It’s all happening. Tomorrow, the final season of @GameOfThrones will celebrate the premiere in NYC at @RadioCity. In the meantime, watch the throne. #GOT,” doNYC tweeted yesterday.
This isn’t the first Iron Throne to be spotted out in the wild, however. In fact, six thrones have been hidden around the world for fans to take photos with, which of course has caused mass hysteria. One of the thrones was actually in Fort Totten Park in Queens, and fans were lining up to take photos with it for hours.
The news was revealed when the Game of Thrones Twitter account sent out a cryptic tweet last week teasing the location of the throne, writing, “A new city flying a starry banner seeks protection from the Great War. How far will you go #ForTheThrone.”
Other thrones were spotted in Brazil, Spain, Canada, Sweden, and the United Kingdom! This is all, of course, in anticipation of the exciting final season’s premiere, which is set to air on HBO on Sunday, April 14.
