Former Walking Dead Star Emily Kinney Has Debuted Her New Song!

Actress Emily Kinney is not only a former cast member from the hit show The Walking Dead (TWD) but also an indie singer who continues to bring forth new music. On Thursday, Kinney released her newest song to the world telling of a relationship she had to leave behind due to not feeling fulfilled by the situation.

The latest track is called “Mermaid Song” according to Billboard and was released independently. On it, Kinney gives her lover the warning that he’s merely been seeing an illusion of her in their relationship like a “mermaid that he dreamt.”

The former The Walking Dead star says the song was inspired by a relationship she left in which she didn’t feel she “could fully be [herself].” It also speaks to “a need to be heard and seen and loved authentically,” according to Kinney.

Emily Kinney began to seriously pursue her indie music career years ago with her first official album release, “This Is War,” arriving back in 2015. She also appeared on the soundtrack for The Walking Dead with the song “Through the Glass.” Kinney is known for playing the character Beth Greene on the hit show for four years.

While she’s not currently on the show, fans can still see her on those earlier episodes via digital video streaming or on DVD and Blu-ray sets. The newest episodes of The Walking Dead air on AMC each Sunday night as the newest season just started. Viewers should check local listings for the latest television times.
