Former Bachelorette star Craig Robinson is getting honest about his addiction struggles and attempting suicide just a few months ago.

The former reality star, who competed on Ali Fedotowsky’s season of The Bachelorette, shared his story while on Reality Steve’s podcast on Thursday, January 31.

In the episode, Craig explained that he started using hard drugs — cocaine, to be specific — when he was just 18 years old.

Though he didn’t need hard drugs 24/7, he opened up about what he did use while he was filming the show.

“Back at that point, it wasn’t something that I needed necessarily throughout the day. But certainly, with the amount of alcohol that I had available to me on the show, I made do with what I had. … I drank every day on that show,” he said.

“I hope that doesn’t come across in any way as me somehow blaming anyone.”

Things took a very dark turn, however, when he left his job in February 2018 and began drinking and taking drugs constantly.

In fact, he even tried to hang himself in June, but he wasn’t able to go through with it.

“I had drank a lot of whiskey, like I said, had taken a few sleeping pills and was also on cocaine, so there was quite a mixture of things going on in my body at that point in time,” he shared.

“But I’ll tell you that it was something that I really, like, deeply thought about for about the week before that.”

The good news is Craig was able to talk to his family about his suicide attempt and decided to check into a rehab in Philadelphia.

He stayed in that particular facility for 30 days and then went to Florida for more treatment. He also turned to former Bachelor producer Elan Gale, who has been sober for a number of years now.
