If you missed last night’s Big Little Lies episode, you missed a lot! Secrets were revealed, suspicions were raised, and viewers learned that drama will continue in a big way for the “Monterey Five!”
Here are five OMG moments from the Big Little Lies episode titled, Tell-Tale Hearts!
1. Dern, It!
Laura Dern won an Emmy for playing control-freak Renata in Season 1, and now, we’re seeing her role expand this season in light of Renata’s husband, Gordon (Jeffrey Nordling), being arrested for security, mail, and wire fraud.
This development, which could wipe Renata out financially, helped give Dern the line of the night when Renata raged: “I’m not going to not be rich! I will not not be rich!” She had another great zinger when Renata told Gordon she won’t be intimate with him in a particular way because she stands to lose all her money.
2. Kids Talk
Children may not always say much but their ears are always open. Madeline’s (Reese Witherspoon) daughter, Chloe (Darby Camp), overheard her mom say that Ziggy (Ian Armitage) is the child of the late Perry (Alexander Skarsgård) — and she blew that secret for the adults when she spilled to the all of the boys.
That makes him the half-brother of Perry and Celeste’s (Nicole Kidman) twins Josh (Cameron Crovetti) and Max (Nicholas Crovetti). While the twins often act like they want to kill each other, they later shared a cordial first meeting with Ziggy as their sibling.
3. Divorce Court
Madeline may be headed for her second divorce. Husband, Ed (Adam Scott), now knows about the extramarital affair she had in Season 1. Seems like Chloe isn’t the only one who can’t keep a secret — Abigail (Kathryn Newton) repeated her mom’s infidelity as Ed appeared in the doorway. To be fair, he wasn’t supposed to be home!
4. Dark Waters
On paper, Celeste should be thrilled her abusive husband is dead. But, in Big Little Lie’s most dysfunctional dynamic to date, Celeste, for some reason, misses her bullying husband. Our advice? Continue therapy with Dr. Reisman (Robin Weigert).
5. Mother’s Intuition
Bonnie’s (Zoë Kravitz) mother, Elizabeth (Crystal R. Fox), has arrived on the scene to visit her daughter to try to help her. Elizabeth is highly sensitive. She knows that her daughter has done something and she also predicts that someone’s going to drown! Ut. oh.
Who — if anyone — is it going to be? Stay tuned!
