Timothy McGee hasn’t always been confident in his abilities on NCIS, but he’s certainly a pro when it comes to cybersecurity and putting bad people away. Tim has worked his way up the ladder of the years and has earned the title of Senior Special Agent.
From his childhood to his excellent education, here are five fast facts you need to know about Tim McGee (Sean Murray) on NCIS!
Military Brat
Tim was the son of Admiral John McGee, which means the family moved all around around the world. He got stability when he attended Johns Hopkins University for college and graduated with a B.S. in biomedical engineering. He then went on to attend MIT and got an M.S. in computer forensics.
Life Imitates Art
Tim has a younger sister named Sarah McGee, who attended Waverley College and wants to be a writer. In reality, Sarah is played by Troian Bellisario, who is Sean Murray’s actual half-sister!
Prior Occupation
Before he permanently joined the NCIS team in Washington D.C., Tim actually worked as a Special Agent in the Norfolk Naval Base. He officially joined the NCIS team as a Probationary Agent in 2004.
Side Gig
Tim is a successful novelist, going by the pen name Thom E. Gemcity. He writes about what he knows best — his job, with his characters based on his co-workers (which they didn’t exactly appreciate), including Gibbs! His financial success always bugged former co-worker Tony DiNozzo.
Family Man
Tim is committed to his career, but he also has a family to take care of! He is married to Delilah Fielding, who is a Department of Defense employee. They have twins together, a son named John McGee II and a daughter named Morgan McGee.
