Dacre Montgomery was the breakout star of Season 2 of Stranger Things as the villain Billy Hargrove. Though he definitely was not likable, countless fans are curious to see what will happen with his character when Season 3 premieres on Thursday, July 4.

In the Beginning
Though he plays an American on TV, Montgomery was actually born and raised in Perth, Australia. Both of his parents worked in the industry in Australia, so Montgomery started performing at quite a young age.
“Most Likely To….”
While attending high school at Mount Lawley Senior High School, Montgomery was actually voted “Most Likely Student to Become a Hollywood Star.” Looks like that came true!
Breakout Role
After being in a few short films and music videos Montgomery’s breakout role came when he landed the part of the Red Ranger in the 2017 Power Rangers movie. It was his first major role and he certainly made the most of it.
First Television Role
Believe it or not, Stranger Things is actually Montgomery’s first television role. Montgomery landed the role of Billy Hargrove following the success of Season 1 of the show.
Standing Out From The Crowd
For his audition for Stranger Things, Montgomery decided to put on a G-string, leather jacket, crazy glasses, and dance around to ‘80s music. He put this on tape and sent it to the creators, who thought it was funny and offered Montgomery the role.
