Charlie Heaton, who is best known for playing Jonathan Byers on Stranger Things, has been working professionally for less than a decade. Though he’s starring on one of the hottest shows out there, he’s still very much at the beginning of his career.

English Born
Heaton was born on February 6, 1994, in Bridlington, England, but he moved to London when he was 16 years old.
Actor And Drummer
Though he’s currently a very successful actor, he actually began his career as a musician. In fact, the reason he moved to London when he was 16 was to pursue a career in drumming. He joined a band called Comanechi and toured with them for about a year and then he joined a band called Half Loon.
X-Men Star
While he’s gotten very famous for playing Jonathan Byers on Stranger Things, Heaton is about to become even more famous because he’s in the new X-Men movie called New Mutants, which is coming out in 2020. He stars in the movie alongside another very famous television star, Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams.
Making A Mark In The USA
Believe it or not, Stranger Things is the first American television show Heaton has appeared on. In fact, it’s also his first leading role on a television show. His first TV appearance was on a British show called DCI Banks back in 2015.
Proud Dad
Heaton is currently dating his Stranger Things co-star Natalia Dyer, but he actually welcomed a son with his ex-girlfriend, musician Akiko Matsuura, back in 2014! They met when both were in the band, Comanechi.
