Five Fast Facts About The Handmaid’s Tale Star Max Minghella

The Handmaid’s Tale star, Max Minghella, is still an up-and-coming actor and now director, but he is definitely best known for his performance as Nick Blaine on the popular Hulu show. He has been on the show since it started back in 2017 and has definitely grown in notoriety since then.

Though Minghella’s been in some popular movies prior to his current role on television, most notably The Social Network, there’s still a lot to learn about the English actor. Here are five fast facts about him!

Famous Father
Minghella is actually the son of a very famous English director named Anthony Minghella. Before he passed away in 2008, he was best known for directing movies like The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, and Cold Mountain.

Ivy League Educated
Minghella grew up in England, but he decided to attend college at Columbia University, which is located in New York City. He graduated from the competitive school in 2009.

Relationship History
Minghella dated actress Kate Mara for a number of years, but they broke up in 2014. Mara then went on to date Minghella’s best friend and Fantastic Four co-star, actor Jamie Bell, and they are now married! The good news, however, is they’re all still very close friends. Minghella is currently dating actress Elle Fanning.

Not His First TV Gig
The 33-year-old has been on the award-winning The Handmaid’s Tale since Season 1, which aired in 2017, but this isn’t his first time appearing on a television show. In fact, the (mostly) film star had a guest starring role in the show The Mindy Project!

Music Video Boy
He’s not just a star of movies and television — Minghella has also been in a music video! He starred in a video for The Killers. It was their song Shot at the Night, which came out back in 2013.
