Sean Lowe was The Bachelor during Season 17 and may go down as one of the best leads of all time. Not only was he entertaining to watch on television, but he truly wanted to find love on the show. Though it’s been a number of years since he was The Bachelor, he’s definitely a fan-favorite.

From his sporting endeavors to his personal life, here are five fast facts you need to know about former The Bachelor star, Sean Lowe.

In the Beginning
Lowe was raised in Irving, Texas, which is where he first started playing football. He attended Texas A&M for one season but decided to transfer to Kansas State University. He played in the 2003 Big 12 Championship Game.

A Bachelor First
After marrying his wife, Catherine Giudici, in 2014, Lowe became the first Bachelor to ever marry the woman he proposed to on the show. While former Bachelor Jason Mesnick did marry a woman from his season, he initially proposed to Melissa Rycroft.

Shall We Dance
Following his time on The Bachelorette and The Bachelor, Lowe decided to try his hand at dancing. He joined Dancing With the Stars and was partnered with Peta Murgatroyd. They made it to the eighth week and placed sixth overall.

Keeping Faith
Lowe is a Christian and he is very strong in his faith. He is involved in the Christian movement called I Am Second and shares a lot about his belief in God on his various social media platforms.

Family Man
Lowe and Catherine welcomed their first child, a boy named Samuel Thomas, in July 2016. They then had their second child, another boy named Isaiah Hendrix, in May 2018.
