If you’re a fan of Dancing With the Stars, there’s a good chance you’re also a fan of Sharna Burgess. The Australian dancer has been a pro on the show for many years and is arguably one of the best to hit the dance floor.
Despite knowing her personality on television, there’s still a lot to learn about the 33-year-old. From how she got her start in dancing to her signature hair, here are five fast facts about Sharna Burgess!
Not a Natural
Burgess is known for having fiery red hair that is not natural, but her natural hair color isn’t even a shade of red! In fact, her natural hair color is actually blonde and it takes Burgess hours to get her signature shade of red.
Olympic Dreams
While growing up in Australia, Burgess began to pursue her dream of wanting to be a dancer. She was even given the opportunity to perform at the Closing Ceremony of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney!
Destination London
When she was just 18 years old, Burgess packed up and moved to London to chase her dreams. She landed a role in the Simply Ballroom tour and also got a spot on the Burn The Floor tour, which she was a part of for six years.
She’s a Champion
Burgess’s first season on Dancing With the Stars was back in Season 16, which means she has been a pro for 12 seasons. After coming close a number of times, she finally won the Mirrorball Trophy this past season with partner Bobby Bones.
What Happens In Vegas…
Burgess was partnered with Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter for Season 21. They developed a great friendship and became very close while he was on the show. But, Carter decided to take their friendship a step further when he asked Burgess to help choreograph the Backstreet Boys’ residency tour in Las Vegas!
