Bryan Craig currently stars as Javi Mendoza on ABC’s new primetime show, Grand Hotel, but the actor has been on popular shows before. Not only has he won awards for his work on a soap, but he also had a recurring role on CBS’s show, Valor.
From his breakthrough role to the research he did for Grand Hotel, here are five fast facts you need to know about Daytime Emmy winning actor, Bryan Craig.
In The Beginning
Craig was born and raised in Boca Raton, Florida, which is when he first started to get interested in becoming an actor. In fact, he got his first job when he was just 14 years old in the movie, Off the Chain. He decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue acting full-time when he became an adult.
Breakthrough Role
Though he had acted in a few films and a television show, Craig’s big break came when he was cast as Morgan Corinthos on General Hospital. He joined in 2013 and stayed until 2016. Thanks to his role, he won two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Younger Actor.
Love on the Set
Craig started dating his former General Hospital co-star, Kelly Thiebaud (ex-Britt), shortly after landing the role and the pair became engaged in 2015. However, they sadly called off their engagement in 2016.
Did His Research
Craig currently stars as Javi Mendoza on Grand Hotel, a playboy who tells women he lost his leg serving in the military (though that’s not how it happened). Though Craig is not an amputee in real life, he did a lot of research in order to get the part right. In fact, he visited a prosthetics lab and also made sure to speak with a lot of amputees.
Celebrated His Success
After landing the role of Javi on Grand Hotel and wrapping the first season at the beginning of the year, Craig shared a picture of himself with a brand new car. The actor shared an Instagram post back in January of his new car with a bow on it and the caption, “Wrap gifts @grandhotel.”
