Douglas Smith currently stars as Jane Chapman’s (Shailene Woodley) sweet new boyfriend, Corey, on the second season of Big Little Lies. While his character seems nice enough, there seems to be something suspicious going on.

Smith was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, so he is a citizen of Canada. However, he was born to an American father, Maurice Smith, and a British mother, so he is also a citizen of the United States and of the United Kingdom!
Entertaining Family
Smith grew up in with a bird’s eye view of the entertainment industry, as his father produced low-budget films and his mother was an actress. Not to mention, his older brother, Gregory Smith, is also an actor. He has appeared on shows like Everwood, Rookie Blue, and Designated Survivor.
C’est La Vie
Smith had his breakthrough role on the show Big Love, which ran from 2006 to 2011. Though he could’ve jumped into a new project, he decided to move to France for six months. In fact, he studied French at Alliance Francaise in Paris. He then decided to return to the states to start working again.
Reunited and It Feels So Good
Though this is Smith’s first time working with actresses such as Shailene Woodley, Reese Witherspoon, and Nicole Kidman, this is not his first time being in the same project as Zoë Kravitz. The pair worked together on The Boy Who Smells like Fish, which came out in 2013.
Married Man
Smith used to be in a band with his ex-girlfriend, Ashton Lunceford, but he recently married Patricia Travis. The couple officially tied the knot on April 7, 2018, so they recently celebrated their one-year anniversary together.
