Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) used to have issues with Jamal’s (Jussie Smollett) sexuality on Empire, but over time Lucious began to accept his son for who he is. In fact, he even supported his son in his recent marriage during Season 5.
In this flashback video from last season, Jamal and his fiancé, Kai (Toby Onwumere), are being interviewed ahead of their wedding, and Jamal discusses his father’s transformation.
