Empire Flashback Video: Becky Helps Jamal With His Vows

Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett) finally married Kai Givens (Toby Onwumere) towards the end of Season 5 of Empire, but the vows didn’t necessarily come easy for the music star — but luckily he had someone to turn to for help.

In this flashback video, Jamal and Becky (Gabourey Sidibe) enjoy some playful banter about her love life but first, he runs his vows by her and she isn’t really a fan of what he’s written down so far.

“Honesty, I think you’re stressing about it too much. All you gotta do is get up there and talk to Kai like you’re the only two people in the entire world. It’s that easy,” she tells Jamal. Watch the clip above to see what Jamal initially wrote for Kai.
