Dynasty 2017 Episode 2 Recap: The Carringtons Unite Their Front

The second episode of the Dynasty 2017 reboot revolved around family ties, warts and all.

While the media gathered in force in front of Carrington manor, the family lawyers were meeting with Blake (Grant Show). The police were also on the scene, trying to gain perspective on what happened when geologist Matthew Blaisdell (Nick Wechsler) died after the oil field suddenly blew up.

So why did that happen?

That’s what everyone wanted to dissect in various ways with various agendas. The sarcastic major domo was out to catch Cristal (Nathalie Kelley) in her lies, Blake was insistent that the family as a whole pull the party line, and Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) just wanted to blame her new cheating stepmother.

The whole matter turned into a murder investigation with Cristal fainting at the thought of it, splayed out on her lawn for all the paparazzi to capture.

At breakfast, Fallon was in full Cristal-baiting mode, which prompted Steven to ask: “Is there a cactus where your heart should be?”

Fallon was told to erase any evidence of Cristal and Matthew’s relationship, including a picture she’d taken as evidence. Her father insisted, saying that the only thing that counted going forward was the strength of the family bond.

The Carrington public relations campaign was on.

“You spin scandal as a skill set,” the butler spit at Cristal, adding, “If only you could master it.” Good dig!

And Willy met with the bride, pushing on her that “Carringtons don’t play by the rules, especially Blake.”

Proof? Cristal and Blake visited Claudia Blaisdell (Brianna Brown), letting her know she is not the enemy. Then, the patriarch signed over a hefty check to cover any expenses that might arise due to her husband’s death. Suspicious much?

At the funeral, Fallon got some carnal action in the family limo before showing her face and Cristal shoved her stepdaughter into an open grave just for fun.

At the end of the reception at Carrington manor, the FBI showed up. Who were they after? Shocker! It was sweet Steven, who was swiftly taken into custody. Stay tuned for next week…
