Anna Delvey is one of the most controversial contestants to join Dancing With the Stars. The news was received with mixed reactions. Some fans believe in second chances for the socialite, while critics argue she shouldn’t extend her 15 minutes of fame.

Delvey was convicted of posing as a German heiress and swindling money from the New York elite, which included friends, banks, and hotels. Her casting on the ABC dance competition came with its share of criticism. Delvey is now sharing what she hopes to get from this experience.

Delvey wants to move on from her criminal past. She’s putting her dancing skills to the test on Season 33 of DWTS. Delvey is paired up with DWTS newcomer Ezra Sosa. In their joint interview with TV Insider, he admitted that he was shocked to learn that his first celebrity partner was Delvey.

“Honestly, I was very excited when I found out Anna was my partner,” Sosa clarified. “I don’t know if you know this, but I’m very gay, and Anna is very huge in the gay world. She’s iconic.”

Delvey will have difficulty learning to dance with her ankle bracelet, which has a built-in GPS that tracks her every move. The so-called fashionista was granted permission to travel to Los Angeles to compete on the show.

However, Delvey claims she’s not limited by where she goes. During the interview, she also revealed what she wants out of her experience on Dancing With the Stars

“Hopefully, people will give me a second chance. I [paid] restitution, and I served my time,” she explained.

Delvey also has her sights set on another ABC show. She would love to be invited to join the panel on The View. Delvey is “grateful” that Alyssa Farah Griffin read her lawyer’s statement stating she paid restitution to the victims.

She also hopes that Sosa won’t quit after his first season. His goal is for Delvey to enjoy her experience.

Dancing With the Stars airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC and Disney+.
