It’s safe to say that given how tight the scores are on Dancing With the Stars this season the next set of eliminations will all be shocking!
But at least this week’s ejected couple got to experience Disney Night!
Here are the highlights:
Victoria Arlen and Val Chmerkovskiy; Jazz, 27/30
Val and Victoria played Mickey and Minnie and to danced Steamboat Willie. It’s a little distracting when other dancers join in, but at least they wore different colors to help remind us who the graded couple is. Biggest shock: Len was okay with the twerking.
Vanessa Lachey and Maks Chmerkovskiy; Waltz, 24/30
Vanessa and Maks danced to a waltz from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It’s hard to believe these two might not have been getting along a few weeks ago. The dance was elegant. Len was stunned that Bruno called him “Grumpy.”
Lindsay Stirling and Mark Ballas; Foxtrot, 28/30
Mark and Lindsay did a Foxtrot to When You Wish Upon A Star accompanied by Mickey himself at the piano. We bet DWTS producers are wishing Mark comes back next season. His routines are magical. A “10” from Len.
Nick Lachey and Peta Murgatroyd; Quickstep, 22/30
Nick and Peta danced to The Bear Necessities from The Jungle Book. It was fun, lively, but Nick looked like he was having trouble keeping up a bit, which was reflected in the scores.
Drew Scott and Emma Slater; Viennese Waltz, 25/30
Drew’s Muppet impersonations in the pre-dance package were okay; his and Emma’s Viennese Waltz to The Rainbow Connection was better. Then, Kermit joined the judges’ table. Tom Bergeron quip of the night: “Bruno, when we have you Gonzo is redundant!” Alas, Kermit’s…continue reading on the next page —>
Sasha Pieterse and Gleb Savchenko; Rumba, 24/30
Cheryl Burke once said the pre-dance video package is just as important as the dance is in surviving this competition so…Gleb dressing up like a merman can only help! Nice comments from the judges on the couple’s dance, but scores weren’t that high. Hmm…
Terrell Owens and Cheryl Burke; Quickstep 25/30
Terrell and Cheryl danced to I Just Can’t Wait To Be King from The Lion King. Fun fact: The judges have monitors on the desk so they can watch the routines on TV. A “9” from Carrie Ann Inaba gives the couple a big boost!
Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson; Argentine Tango, 29/30
The pair danced to Angelica from Pirates of the Caribbean. Witney’s heel briefly got caught on her dress, but Carrie Ann and Bruno Tonioli still whipped out the “10” paddles. Grumpy Len kept it from being a perfect score.
Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold; Foxtrot, 30/30
This is the couple…continue reading on the next page —>
Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev; jazz, 27/30
The paired danced a jazz to a song from the upcoming Coco titled “Remember Me.” Len said it was their best dance yet.
Going Home…
Alas, those flattering comments and low scores (always a suspicious giveaway) for Sasha and Gleb turned out to be ominous.
They were joined in jeopardy with Frankie and Witney, but it was Sasha and Gleb who were voted off in the fifth week of competition.
“I’ve had such an incredible time…I’m so thankful,” Sasha said.
Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays from 8 p.m. to 10:01 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Check local listings.
