Recently, Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) season 25 competitor Vanessa Lachey celebrated her son Phoenix Robert’s special milestone!
Phoenix Robert, who is also the son of recently eliminated DWTS competitor Nick Lachey, turned 10 months old. Last year, the couple’s third child was born prematurely on Christmas Eve via an emergency c-section, according to a PEOPLE report.
Vanessa and Nick opened up about the emotional ordeal recently on DWTS. Prior to the birth, Vanessa had been on bed rest when her water unexpectedly broke 10 weeks ahead of her due date.
Nick revealed that his wife had called him in a panic and that he “never felt so helpless.”
Vanessa told her pro dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy on DWTS that she remembers being on the operating table just thinking “I hope the baby’s okay and don’t worry about me. Just make him okay.”
Phoenix spent six long weeks in the NICU before he finally got to go home. Fortunately, everything turned out okay and Phoenix Robert is a happy, healthy little brother today.
According to Nick, their son’s premature birth was “one of the hardest things” they’ve endured as a couple, but they’ve found strength in sharing their story and in hearing the stories of others who’ve shared their experience.
To mark her son’s amazing milestone, Vanessa posted an adorable Instagram video, which you can see below. There’s even a cute filter added in which Phoenix dons a cool pair of shades.
DWTS fans can watch Vanessa’s journey each Monday and Tuesday evening on the hit ABC competition by checking local listings for times.
