Chrishell Stause did more than survive into Week 6 on Dancing With the Stars after performing with her pro partner Gleb Savchenko on 80s Night. The actress, who did a cha cha to The Right Stuff by one of her favorite rock groups, New Kids on the Block, received video greetings from band members after her performance.
The couple stood before judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli who gave feedback to the couple. Inaba said that the dance didn’t contain enough cha cha content. Hough encouraged Stause to work on her arm placement. Tonioli made a Dirty Dancing comparison and emphasized a need to focus on footwork.
The constructive criticism couldn’t dampen Stause’s elation, however, after NKOTB appeared on video. In the past, the singers might have been invited to appear in the studio and even perform a song live, however, in the era of coronavirus, Stause got the next best thing with the special video.
“I woke up having to ask myself if this really happened!!!” Stause posted on Instagram the morning after her dance on 80s Night. “After watching the @nkotb video shout out to me on a constant loop, I have decided it is in fact real!!
“To @donniewahlberg @dannywoodofficial @joeymcintyre @jordanknightofficial @jonathanrknight I seriously can NOT thank you enough for taking time to do that-I hope you know how much it means!!! 💕🤖
“And to every single #blockhead and person that voted for me & @glebsavchenkoofficial to stay I truly wish we could all go to a New Kids show together and have a massive group hug! (I know, I know, we can’t. 😷But maybe someday!) Headed into a new week as always I know I have much to improve on, but I have never been more motivated and eager to not let you guys down!!!” Stause adds.
“Your support has allowed me to have the coolest night of my LIFE -thank you SO MUCH!!!! Ahhhhh!!!! (Gonna watch my shout out 20 more times & then back to work!!!😜) @dancingabc #NKOTB #BHlove #TeamSellingIt #DWTS #therightstuff.” Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
