Cote de Pablo Return Date To NCIS Finally Revealed

Fans of NCIS have been waiting to hear when Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) would be returning to the megahit CBS show, and it looks like we finally have our answer — and it’s going to make the holiday season even better.

Cote de Pablo Returns

According to TVLine, de Pablo will be back for two episodes this season, one on December 17 — which will be the final episode of 2019 — and one on January 7, 2020, the first episode of the new year.

Though Ziva’s return isn’t a surprise, cast member Brian Dietzen did reveal de Pablo was back on set in a recent Instagram post. “Man, I do love that I get to work with such good friends. Fun day on set today. Photo credit: @dionareasonover,” he captioned the sweet photo.

Shocking Return
It was revealed earlier this year that Ziva would be coming back for more episodes after her shocking return from the dead (okay, we all knew she was still alive but still) in the final moments of Season 16.

In that jaw-dropping episode, Ziva appeared in Gibbs’s (Mark Harmon) basement and revealed she didn’t die in the bombing in Israel. She also told him that he was in grave danger and she was there to save him. This season, we learned she still had one more thing left to accomplish, but she needed to do it alone. Of course, she got some much-needed help from the team even if she didn’t want it.

The Tony DiNozzo Factor

After that was cleared up — focus returned to where it needed to be — on Tony (Michael Weatherly). They had a daughter together, and he just so happened to call Gibbs while Ziva was there. “He should hear [the truth] from you,” Gibbs said before Ziva responded, “And he will.”

It’s unclear how her storyline will unfold this season, but if we know anything about NCIS, it’s sure to be a couple of crazy episodes. But as of now, we have a lot of questions about what has happened with Ziva since she walked away from Gibbs.

The Tiva Future
It’ll be interesting to find out if Ziva and Tony got back together in the interim — and even better if Weatherly decides to make an appearance on NCIS. He is currently shooting his own show, Bull, so it doesn’t seem terribly likely but it would certainly be a huge treat for fans.
