BIP Star Joe Amabile Practices For DWTS With His Girlfriend Kendall Long

Bachelor in Paradise star, Joe Amabile, is currently competing on Dancing with the Stars, and it hasn’t been easy. But – and luckily – he has the support of his girlfriend, Kendall Long.

The reality star, who found fame after he was sent home on the first night of last season’s The Bachelorette, also found love on Season 5 of BIP with Kendall. But, because Joe lives in Chicago and Kendall lives in Los Angeles, the 31-year-old was offered a spot on DWTS to be close to his love.

Though dancing is not necessarily Joe’s strong suit, he does have Kendall to practice his dance moves with when he’s not around his partner, Jenna Johnson.

In fact, according to Jenna, Kendall has really helped Joe with picking up the steps.

“[Long] picks up the choreography really well. It’s awesome. She’ll come to rehearsal, and she’ll watch it and then learn it. It’s been fun to see them practice together,” Jenna told Us Weekly.

However, while Joe is spending time on the West Coast in order to be close to Kendall, the reality is he’s spending most of his time in a dance studio.

“I think it’s been hard. We’ve been so wrapped up,” Jenna shared. Joe added, “Yeah, you’ve got to really just focus on the dancing.”

Despite Joe having the lowest scores the first week and the second week of the show, he has managed to avoid elimination. This week Jenna and Joe had to learn two dances — a foxtrot and a jazz routine — and they were able to improve on their scores from last week.

In fact, Jenna opened up about their tough couple of weeks on Instagram following the show on Tuesday, October 2.

“These past two weeks have not been an easy task. I am so incredibly grateful we survived eliminations and get another shot to DANCE! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the support and votes!” she wrote on Instagram.
