Bachelor in Paradise Star Tanner Tolbert Revealed The One Thing He Won’t Let Happen During Jade’s Second Pregnancy

Bachelor in Paradise star Tanner Tolbert is looking forward to welcoming his second child with wife Jade Roper, but he’s hoping to keep the pregnancy weight off this time.

You heard that right — while Jade, of course, gained weight while pregnant with their first daughter, 17-month-old Emerson, Tanner put on a couple pounds as well.

Though it’s fairly normal for husbands to put on “sympathy weight” during their wives’ pregnancies, the former Bachelorette star is not making the same mistake twice!

“When Jade was having Emmy, I gained 25 pounds. I was up to 220, so, yeah, the weight gain was real for me,” he told Us Weekly.

“Then he’d eat like two or more of them. [I was like] ‘I can handle this — your body isn’t growing something inside of it!” Jade said.

Despite not checking his weight during Jade’s first pregnancy, he could tell the pounds were starting to add up.

“I didn’t step on a scale for a while there, so I didn’t know the weight gain was happening, but Jade was sort of telling me,” he said.

However, he did find a way to lose the weight fairly quickly and now knows the importance of eating clean.

“But that won’t happen this time around. We just ate a lot better and went on walks. It really was diet for me, and I lost the weight that way.”

Not to mention, Tanner will be a lot more active during their second child’s pregnancy because he has to keep up with Emmy!

Even though she’s under two, Emmy is busy walking and moving all over the place.

In fact, Jade shared an adorable video of Emmy back in December taking her first steps.

“First steps!!!! Ahhh, I love her so much my heart is going to explode, such a proud moment. She’s doing everything in her own timing and it’s her own little kind of perfect,” she wrote.
