Bachelor star Colton Underwood is explaining himself after he revealed he may be falling in love with multiple women this season. Some fans were a bit upset after the 27-year-old told more than one person he was “falling in love” with them.
It all started during Monday, February 25 episode, which just so happened to be Hometown Dates.
Underwood told Caelynn Miller-Keyes’ and Hannah Godwin’s fathers he was “falling in love.” He also told Tayshia Adams he felt the same way about her.
Some people on Twitter criticized Underwood for throwing the L-word around.
“@colton how can you tell three women you are falling in love with them?” one person wrote.
“Hi @colton this is why you don’t tell multiple girls you are falling in love with them and then send them home a week later. Not fair to the girls… thanks for coming to my Ted Talk,” another added.
Somebody else said, “Good luck. I am seriously concerned for you. How can you look at someone and say I am falling in love with you when your kissing someone else and feeling someone else up??? Just another man telling a woman what he thinks she wants to hear to get what he wants.”
Despite being honest with his feelings, Underwood felt the need to explain himself on Twitter during the episode.
“PSA: ‘falling in love’ is much different than ‘I’m in love or I love you’ #TheBachelor.”
Former Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe also took to Twitter to defend Underwood.
“There’s a difference between falling in love with 4 people and deeply loving one,” she explained.
“Have you ever been in a situation where you had the opportunity to exhaust 4 different relationships, meet families & continue to pursue that many women? When it’s the ‘format,’ it’s possible.”
What do you think of Colton’s response?
