Only a couple of days old and Baby Sussex has already met Queen Elizabeth II and gotten a name! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry not only revealed their son to the world on Wednesday, May 8, they also shared his name!

The proud parents announced Baby Sussex’s moniker in an adorable Instagram post alongside a photo of the parents showing their baby to his great grandmother.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor,” they captioned the photo.

“This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle. The Duke of Edinburgh and The Duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion.”

Archie’s great-grandfather, Prince Philip, is also in the photo, as is his grandmother, Doria Ragland, Markle’s mother.

This name is definitely not what fans of the Royal Family predicted, as many believed they would name their little guy Arthur, Albert, or James.

The couple also shared another photo on Instagram of the family of three’s first public outing.

“Today The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to share their first public moment as a family,” the caption said.

“They are so incredibly grateful for the warm wishes and support they’ve received from everyone around the world, since welcoming their son two days ago.”
