Why The Last Blast Deaths Aren’t Mentioned on Days of Our Lives

As fans of the DOOL App series Last Blast Reunion are well aware, folks are dropping like flies courtesy of a mystery killer. So far, Kevin, Mimi, and Chloe have been murdered in the digital drama… but curiously, their departures haven’t been addressed on Days of Our Lives.

Days of Our Lives Is In The Future

Viewers know that the worlds of the DOOL App and the show broadcast on NBC co-exist because Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abby (Kate Mansi) returned to Salem following their escapades in Paris. So, if that’s the case, then why aren’t the characters in Salem mourning Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) and company?

The answer is timing. DOOL generally tapes six months in advance. Therefore, what we are currently seeing on NBC was written and shot long ago — before the Last Blast Reunion series was developed.

Ron Carlivati, who both head writes DAYS and crafts tales for the DOOL App series, confirmed recently on Twitter: “…we wrote/shot the web series several months after the show was written/shot. We can acknowledge things happening in Salem on the app but unfortunately not the other way around. #days #DOOLapp”

The two big questions that remain are who is killing off the Last Blast characters and are they truly dead? DAYS has a habit of resurrecting characters who’ve gone to that great soap in the sky.

Roman (Wayne Northrup, Josh Taylor) fell to his “death” in 1984 while fighting with Stefano (the late Joe Mascolo; Stephen Nichols) only to turn up alive many years later.

Will (Chandler Massey) was murdered by Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) and then, he was miraculously given the Lazarus treatment, too. And let’s not forget when the Salem Serial Killer killed off almost half the cast! It appeared that all of those characters were goners, but they turned up alive and well on the island of Melaswen (‘New Salem’ spelled backward).
