They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps, but can you guess who this little lassoing mister grew up to be?
Obviously, this young man (now all grown up) is either currently starring in, or is an alum of, one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not enough of a hint.
So try these on for size. He excels at sports. His first professional job was a commercial for Toyota Tundra. He had a recurring role on a Disney channel show. He has appeared in two daytime dramas. He is a Daytime Emmy Award nominee. And he fulfilled his lifelong dream to voice a video game character.
But just who can he be? Is this a photograph of Anthony Turpel (ex-R.J. Forrester, BB), Lucas Adams (Tripp Dalton, DAYS), William Lipton (Cameron Webber, GH), or Robert Adamson (ex-Noah Newman, YR)?
Though Turpel was nominated for a Younger Actor award at the Daytime Emmys, that’s where the similarities between him and today’s featured actor end. This talented younger actor got his start in a commercial for Trivial Pursuit, he’s only appeared on one daytime soap, and even though he’s a huge fan of video games, he hasn’t voiced a character in one.
Like today’s mystery performer, Lipton was a Daytime Emmy Award nominee; and he’s also an avid sportsman. But GH is his sole soap opera credit, and he’s yet to give life to a video game character.
Adamson has appeared on two Disney Channel originals – Princess Protection Program and Sonny With a Chance – and he voiced Gwydoin/Prince Alexander in the popular video game King’s Quest III Redux: To Heir is Human. However, his first professional gig was a guest spot on the procedural series Cold Case, and YR is the only daytime soap he’s appeared in.
Adams landed that Toyota Tundra commercial a mere three months after making the movie Texas to L.A., and he quickly followed that up with roles on YR (ex-Wesley), True Blood (2014), as well as Disney’s Liv and Maddie (2015). He’s played Tripp Dalton on DAYS from 2017 to 2019, and again from 2020-Present. In 2016, he voiced a character in the video game Battlefield 1.
So, if you guessed that the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Lucas Adams, a lover of several sports including baseball, softball, basketball, and football, then you were absolutely correct!
