They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps, but can you guess who this exasperated little cutie grew up to be?
Star Of The Soaps
Obviously, this young lady (now all grown up) is either currently starring in, or is an alum of, one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not enough of a hint.
So try these on for size. She was born and raised in Evanston, Illinois. She was a psychology major at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her first acting role was in an action/crime drama starring Richard Burgi (Ashland, Y&R; ex-Paul, GH). She is a soap hopper, a Daytime Emmy Award winner, and she played two unrelated characters on the same serial.
But just who can she be? Is this a photograph of Sarah Joy Brown (ex-Aggie Jones, B&B), Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali, DAYS), Natalia Livingston (ex-Emily Quartermaine, GH), Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore, Y&R)?
Sarah Joy Brown
Brown has appeared in a number of soap operas, including B&B, As the World Turns (ex-Julian Morrisey Larrabee), and GH. In the latter show, she originated the character of Carly Roberts and later played mob princess Claudia Zacchara. But despite winning three Daytime Emmy Awards, Brown isn’t today’s featured star. She was born in Eureka, California, and began her acting career in the science fantasy series VR Troopers.
Natalia Livingston
Livingston also played two characters on GH – Emily Quartermaine and Rebecca Shaw – in addition to her work as Taylor Walker on DAYS. But her GH counterparts were twin sisters, which certainly means that there was a biological connection. So she isn’t the answer to today’s identity query.
Tracey Bregman
And neither is Bregman. This in spite of the fact that she won a Daytime Emmy for her work as Y&R’s Lauren AND she portrayed the vengeful, plastic surgery-altered Sarah Smythe on the same show.
Tamara Braun
Braun’s first acting credit was a guest spot on the series The Sentinel, which she quickly followed with roles in City Guys (1997), Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), 7th Heaven (1998), and more.
Between 2001 and 2005, Braun played GH’s Carly (and in 2017, she returned for two years to play Kim Nero). Her next daytime role was the villainous Ava Vitali on DAYS but despite this, and a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress, she was later invited back in order to play Taylor Walker — and then returned to DAYS yet again to play Ava.
So, if you guessed that the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Tamara Braun, then you were absolutely correct!
