Armed with a new head writer, Days of Our Lives (DOOL) took drama to new heights in 2017.
Estranged soulmates struggled to reunite. A baby bombshell stunned everyone — including the infant’s mother! And a stunning resurrection shook Salem to its very core. Which storyline did fans of the Salem soap choose as their favorite for 2017? Over 4,200 of you voted, and here are the results.
Nicole Gets Her Baby
The mother and child reunion of Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and her daughter Holly was the top pick for 50% of fans.
You loved everything about the story, from Nicole learning that Holly was her and Daniel’s (Shawn Christian) biological child to finally being awarded custody of her beautiful baby girl. After years of longing for motherhood, you were thrilled to see Nicole realize her dream.
Chad and Abby Reunite
Some 32% of you voted Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abby (Marci Miller) reuniting, culminating with their second wedding, as your favorite story of 2017.
The twosome underwent so many obstacles during the year, including Chad’s affair with Gabi (Camila Banus) and Dario’s (Jordi Vilasuso) manipulation of Abby, but in the end, their love prevailed. Now, you just hope they’ll live happily ever after.
Will’s Resurrection
Undoing Will’s (Chandler Massey) horrific murder and bringing the character back to life garnered 14% of your votes. You enjoyed the long winding road of finding Will alive in Nashville to bringing him back home to Salem.
Not only does it give hope to “WilSon” fans, who are clamoring for a Will and Sonny (Freddie Smith) reconciliation, but it also gives sweet Arianna her daddy back.
Hope and Rafe’s Love Story
Meanwhile, 3% of you were thrilled to see Hope (Kristian Alfonso) find love again with Rafe (Galen Gering). The soap wisely took their romance slowly, after Bo’s (Peter Reckell) death.
Then, when the time was right, their friendship blossomed into love and they got engaged. The only caveat has been Rafe’s one-night stand with Sami (Alison Sweeney), which could ruin everything.
Brady’s Downward Spiral
A tiny 1% of fans were captivated by Brady’s (Eric Martsolf) trials and tribulations; particularly, his downward spiral after Nicole left him for Eric (Greg Vaughan). You loved watching Martsolf’s portrayal of bad Brady and thought he was pure evil blackmailing Nicole to dump his stepbrother and leave town.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
