Now that Abby made her quiet crawl out the window and Kate Mansi’s last “Days of Our Lives” scenes have aired, the wait for NuAbby begins.
Many fans were shocked when DAYS decided to recast a role that Mansi brought to fame. Yes, we watched Abigail grow up as the daughter of Jennifer and Jack Deveraux, but Mansi became synonymous with the character. However, recasts are not unusual and the show must go on. Come fall, the show goes on with Marci Miller as Abby.
Soap Hub asked whether you’re excited about Miller’s arrival in the role or if you’ll just miss Mansi too much.

Out of about 3,000 votes, only 47% of you can’t wait to see Miller take over the role. You want to see a new take on Abby–and you certainly don’t want to see Chad (Billy Flynn) sad and lonely. (Nor do you want to see him with the too-young Ciara.) Besides, Thomas needs his mama, so Abby needs to come home.
On the flip side, 34% would rather Abby stay gone rather than see a new actress in the role. You’re not sure if you can accept someone else as such a famed character and can’t imagine anyone matching the chemistry between Flynn and Mansi. Chabby just won’t be the same with a new actress as Abby.
The final 19% don’t even care. You’ve been watching soaps long enough to know that recasts are commonplace. After all, Flynn is the second Chad and had even more chemistry with Mansi than Casey Deitrich did. Maybe the unimaginable will happen and Miller can match Mansi’s chemistry with Flynn. You never know…
