After debuting just a little over a year ago as Victor’s never-before-heard-of younger brother, Deimos Kiriakis, it looks like Vincent Irizarry’s time on Days of Our Lives has come to an end.
According to Soap Central, several sources have confirmed that the actor has finished his role as the dastardly Deimos, but will air till mid-2017 thanks to DAYS’ long taping lead time.
The actor began working on the soap in the summer of 2015, but didn’t begin airing until 2016 and since then, Deimos has been written in so many different directions that he was eventually written right into a corner, which is where he is now.
The character has seemingly gone off the deep end all for the sake of something called the Orwell Device that can bring him untold riches. He doesn’t care who he hurts to get his hands on the device, which has taken away the little bit of vulnerability he had as a man in love with Nicole.
With Irizarry off DAYS, maybe ABC will snatch him up and bring David Hayward to General Hospital. Anna (Finola Hughes) needs a real love interest, and her ex-husband can fit the bill.
