Top 10 Reasons to Watch Days of our Lives Right Now

It’s been in a whirlwind of ins and outs at Days of our Lives. After announcing various exits that had viewers seriously down, the soap turned around and announced returns that have thrilled fans. Here are 10 reasons to watch Days of our Lives right now.

Days of our Lives Goodness

1. Suddenly Sami
Alison Sweeney is returning as Sami for an emotional story arc centered around her teenage daughter, Allie. It kicks off in late 2020 and plays through most of 2021. Nobody drives a plot harder than Sweeney, so it should be riveting. Plus, with Sami on the canvas for so long, maybe the soap will finally address the missing EJ and consider recasting him.

2. Young and Fiery
The show’s got an excellent 20-something core. On the female front, there’s Lindsay Arnold, who plays Allie; Claire recast Isabel Durant, and Victoria Konefal, who will be returning as Ciara on and off. Plus, Lucas Adams is back as Tripp and new addition, Charlie (Mike Manning), has been added to the mix. Any story in their hands will be top-notch. Add Robert Scott Wilson into the mix as Ben, and things get even better.

3. Family Foes
A red hot Kiriakis rivalry has been ignited between Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) and Xander (Paul Telfer), as they vie for Victor’s (John Aniston) favor and sole control of Titan. Philip’s a slick crafty ex-Marine, while Xander’s a calculating, brute-strength henchman. The duo is perfect nemeses and formidable opponents.

4. Back Together, Again
Having Philip back in Salem also spells trouble for Shawn (Brandon Beemer) and his love, Belle (Martha Madison), who’s never been able to resist her dimpled ex. With Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) back this week, the old high school gang will be reunited, and the possibilities for love and drama are wide open.

5. New “Chabby” Threat
Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail (Marci Miller) are on the front burner again, and there’s a new threat to their happiness: Gwen (Emily O’Brien). The devious Brit has been revealed as the one slipping Abigail hallucinogenic drugs, and to make matters worse, she’s living under the same roof as her. That can’t bode well for poor Abby or her sanity.

6. Here Comes Crazy
Life in Salem is even more complicated and a whole lot crazier with Tamara Braun back as Steve’s (Stephen Nichols) wacky ex, Ava. This time she is manipulating Philip and she’s pals with Kristen (Stacy Haiduk)! And with Ava alive, Joey will be sprung from prison, pronto.

7. Babies on Board
After losing their first child, Lani (Sal Stowers) and Eli (Lamon Archey) are expecting again, and this time, it’s twins. Watching them navigate through this new pregnancy has been interesting. While Eli’s been bursting with joy and optimism, Lani’s been quiet and reserved as she tries to squelch the negative thoughts that keep creeping into her head about how her last pregnancy ended. Plus, now they are on the outs thanks to Kristen.

8. Obliterated Bliss
Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Kristen were finally happy together with their baby daughter, Rachel, but it all blew sky high when Eli arrested Kristen for stabbing Victor. Brady’s scrambling to figure out a plan to save the woman he loves, but it could come with a hefty price tag.

9. Supercouple Strong
Although fan-favorite Kristian Alfonso has left the soap and Hope and will be missed, there’s still a great group of vets from the show’s glorious 80s to pick up the slack. Supercouples Steve and Kayla, Jack and Jennifer, and Marlena and John are all on the canvas, and they’re each connected to prominent younger characters.

10. Hernandez Homecoming
After a brief exit, Hernandez siblings Gabi (Camila Banus) and Rafe (Galen Gering) are back in Salem where they belong. It means the soap can pursue the Gabi and Jake (Brandon Barash) relationship, which was abruptly dropped when Gabi split town. Meanwhile, Rafe can return to his post at the helm of the Salem PD, where he belongs. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
