Later, she returned to Salem after having plastic surgery to restore her appearance. Alas, Doug had moved on with Lee Dumonde (Brenda Benet). Despite Lee’s best efforts, Doug and Julie re-wed.
Sparring With Bonnie
Julie had Bonnie’s (Judi Evans) number from day one and she didn’t want her going after her uncle Mickey (the late John Ingle), who was grieving the alleged loss of his beloved Maggie.
When Bonnie and Julie crossed paths, the claws came out and biting barbs were exchanged!
Doug’s “Death”
When the Salem Serial Killer swept through Salem, Doug became one of the victims. In 2004, the Hayeses played a tearful farewell when Doug appeared to Julie as a ghost shortly after his epic, fatal battle with Marlena (Deidre Hall).
When Doug’s death and all the other deaths were attributed to being a “DiMera hoax,” Julie shouted out “what else” could it have been, almost as if she were speaking the thoughts of DAYS viewers everywhere!
