Father’s Day in Days of Our Lives’ Salem tends to look a little different than it does everywhere else. Salem dads spend their time installing extra deadbolts, breaking up Sami’s latest disaster, manipulating entire families, and occasionally committing crimes in the name of protecting their children. To celebrate Father’s Day, the show asked some of its leading men to identify the most “dad” thing their characters have ever done.

Key Takeaways

  • DAYS stars revealed their characters’ most dad-like moments.
  • Steve’s answer involved three deadbolts and Stephanie.
  • Brady, Roman, and Abe reflected on fatherhood in Salem.
  • Xander and Chad supplied the comic relief.
  • Fans showed plenty of love for Salem’s dads.

Salem Dads Explain Themselves

The show’s official Instagram page shared a video with the caption, “In honor of Father’s Day, we’re looking back at the most ‘dad’ things these Salem dads have done. What’s the most classic dad move in your family? Tell us below.”

Stephen Nichols (Steve) didn’t hesitate: “Without a doubt, when Stephanie was being stalked, Papa put one, two, three deadbolts on her door and insisted that she lock them all every time she goes in and every time she comes out.” Stephanie herself, Abigail Klein, quickly approved of the answer, commenting, “BEST PAPA SWEETNESS IN THE WORLD @stephen_e_nichols!!”

The rest of the cast delivered equally memorable responses. Dan Feuerriegel (EJ) summed up years of questionable parenting decisions by saying, “EJ has done everything and anything to protect his family. That’s what he’s done.”

Eric Martsolf (Brady) joked, “Pretty much everything Brady does is a dad thing, but I would say he put his kid in a mental institution.”

Meanwhile, James Reynolds (Abe) focused on Abe’s affection toward Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews), while Josh Taylor (Roman) remembered spending much of his parenting career “always breaking up fights for Sami.”

Some Answers Were More Salem Than Others

A few cast members took a more humorous approach. Paul Telfer (Xander) nominated “using Victoria to get back into Sarah’s good graces and manipulate her,” which may not make any parenting handbook, but certainly sounds like Xander. Robert Scott Wilson (Alex) simply answered, “Become a dad by no inclination whatsoever.”

Then there was Conner Floyd (Chad), who somehow delivered the most dad answer of them all in just three words: “Tuck my shirt in.”

Fans seemed to enjoy the trip through Salem’s father figures. Many filled the comments with Father’s Day wishes, while others singled out their favorite answers. More than one viewer laughed at Xander’s response, while another pointed out that Steve’s three deadbolts were peak protective dad behavior.

One fan may have summed it up best by noting, “Some great TV dads in Salem, even EJ, who may not always do the right thing, but he does love his children❤️.”
