Newlyweds Chanel (Raven Bowens) and Johnny (Carson Boatman) never got a chance to “celebrate” their marriage after their quickie wedding at Paulina’s (Jackee Harry) hospital bedside. But that’s about to change.
“There’s one thing we haven’t done yet as husband and wife,” Johnny tells Chanel in the Horton Square, as they both eye the Salem Inn nearby. Moments later, the twosome are bursting through a hotel room door wrapped in each other’s arms. They quickly rip off each other’s clothes and fall into bed.
Across town, Xander (Paul Telfer), who’s finally out of police custody, makes up for lost time with Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). “Tonight is allowed,” he whispers. Sarah inches up behind him and wraps her arms around his waist. Then Xander carries her to the sofa, where they make love.
The baby tug-of-war between Nicole (Arianne Zucker, whose exit will cause some additional drama in this storyline) and Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) continues. After a nice moment where Nicole gets to hold baby Jude, who’s actually her son, she gets reprimanded by Sloan. “You will not be coming to my son’s christening,” Sloan announces in no uncertain terms.
John (Drake Hogestyn), who’s learned the truth about his role in Catharina’s death from Konstantin (John Kapelos), is both crushed and furious. When he returns home and finds Steve (Stephen Nichols) revealing the information to Marlena (Deidre), John erupts.
He holds up a photo of Konstantin’s late daughter and growls, “I killed her. You lied to my face. Damn it, Steve.”
Meanwhile, when Stefan (Brandon Barash) pays Ava (Tamara Braun) and Harris (Steve Burton) a visit, he gets more than he bargained for. “You shot me twice in cold blood,” accuses Harris, who recalls the details of the night he was gunned down.
Stefan decides to deflect from the situation at hand and switch the emphasis to Ava. “What about her? Do you know what she was doing with me?” he asks Harris, referring to the wild night he and Ava had sex.
Ava doesn’t take kindly to being outed, especially since she and Stefan had both decided to never speak about that night again. How does she react? Exactly how you would expect. “You bastard,” she spats, slapping him hard across the face. And he totally deserves it.
