A memory of the night of EJ’s shooting is uncovered, while Xander’s once happy life begins to crumble courtesy of his heinous actions against Philip, according to the Days of our Lives spoilers preview. Eyewitness Surfaces
Apparently, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) isn’t the only person who remembers Johnny (Carson Boatman) being at the DiMera mansion and pointing a gun at him. So does his young niece, Rachel (Alice Halsey).
“The night Uncle EJ was shot, Johnny was there,” she reveals to her mother, Kristen (Stacy Haiduk). “He was fighting with Uncle EJ. He had a gun,”

Arresting Development
Across town, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) is furious with Xander (Paul Telfer) for having beaten Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier). “I will do everything in my power to protect my granddaughter,” she announces in no uncertain terms. “Is that a threat?” asks Xander.
No matter, it looks like that is the least of Xander’s problems at the moment. Later, at the hospital, Jada (Elia Cantu) arrives and confronts him, while Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) look on. “You’re under arrest for the assault of Philip Kiriakis,” says Jada, slapping handcuffs on Xander.

Bedside Vigil
Meanwhile, in a hospital bed at the facility, family, including Brady, Will (Chandler Massey), Carrie (Christie Clark), Eric (Greg Vaughan), and Belle (Martha Madison), arrive to say goodbye to John, who’s in critical condition. Marlena (Deidre Hall) rests her head on a pillow beside her bandaged husband’s head.
Then Abe (James Reynolds) shows up to see his longtime friend. “We’re family, John,” he tells him.
Out in the hallway, Kayla embraces Steve (Stephen Nichols) while crying. A teary-eyed Paul (Christopher Sean) soon joins Marlena by his father’s bedside. “Family is who sits in your heart, who brings it to life, who makes it worthwhile,” Marlena shares with someone.

Praying for a Miracle
Finally, a distraught Steve heads to the chapel to pray. “Please, help my partner,” he sobs.
And Marlena, fearing the end might be near, gets into bed beside her husband and tenderly kisses him on the shoulder. “Don’t leave us now,” she begs him, not ready to lose the man she’s loved for decades.
