The Ex Factor
Leo (Greg Rikaart) and Javi (Al Calderon) get a big surprise after exchanging “I Do’s” in Horton Square. They run smack into Leo’s ex, Dimitri (Peter Porte), who’s back in town. Dimitri’s other ex, Gwen (Emily O’Brien), is nearby, savoring the turmoil that her former husband is bound to create for the newlyweds.
It appears that turmoil begins quite quickly. Moments later, Javi is sitting on a bench and sobbing, and Leo is looking absolutely crushed as he stands in a hotel room alone.

The rest of Salem rings in the new year. Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Jeremy (Michael Roark) count down to 2026. And longtime pals, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Brady (Eric Martsolf), take their friendship to a new level when they share a tender kiss.
Surprise Recovery
At Salem University Hospital, Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) sits vigil at her ailing brother Peter’s (Dan Gauthier) bedside. She stands up and tenderly wipes his brow. When she turns to leave, he suddenly reaches out and grabs her hand. Kristen turns around, shocked that Peter has regained consciousness.
A Firing
Xander (Paul Telfer) makes an unexpected move. It looks like he may be driven by jealousy, now that Brady has moved in on his ex-wife, Sarah. Xander summons Brady to his office at Titan and delivers surprising news. “You’re fired,” he seethes.
An Awakening
Back at the hospital, another family gets the miracle they’ve been waiting for. Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) finally awakens from his coma. He opens his eyes and is welcomed by a pair of giant smiles and gasps from an overjoyed Abe (James Reynolds) and Paulina (Jackée Harry).
Night Stalker
Finally, as Stephanie (Abigail Klein) and Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) share a kiss in the square, someone creeps by them in a black hoodie. Is it Stephanie’s stalker daring to get closer to his victim?
Meanwhile, at the Horton house, Julie expresses her dreams for 2026. “I hope it really is a happy new year,” she tells Jeremy.
