Now she’s back to settle the score. Eve gets the chance, when everyone gathers to ring in the New Year at Doug’s Place, and she crashes the party.
“She comes back with guns loaded,” announces DePaiva. “She comes back because Jennifer blew up her life. So she’s going to make her pay for everything she did.”
After delivering some choice words to the people who have wronged her, it’s time for the ball to drop.That’s when Eve decides to play her trump card and has Jack (Matthew Ashford) enter the club. Needless to say, his appearance stuns the assembled crowd.
Just Getting Started
It’s an explosive return, for both Eve and Jack, with lots of twists and turns that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. And DePaiva loves every moment of it.
“Oh my gosh yes,” she delivers with a smile. “I’ve been working for six months, so we have six months of really great stuff under our belt. It’s good. Really good. And I think the fans are really going to love it.”
New Leading Man
What DePaiva has loved is the opportunity the story turn has given her to work opposite Ashford.
Although the pair crossed paths when they were both on One Life to Live — she played Blair Cramer, and he played Stephen Haver — “it was very brief,” notes DePaiva. “It was two different shows and two different characters.
“Working with Matt on DAYS has been a delight,” says DePaiva. “What a thespian. It’s been great.”

An Ex to Remember
And Ashford’s not the only one DePaiva is happy to be sharing the screen with again. There’s also Eric Martsolf, who plays Eve’s true love Brady… the one that got away.
“Eve can’t help from pining over Brady, even though he hurt her by sleeping with Kristen DiMera,” sighs DePaiva.
“He did come clean with her, but that crossed a line with Eve. She’d forgiven him so much and then he closed the door on her because she had done that one thing — worked with Victor to plant those drugs and then didn’t tell him the truth about it. That was it. Her heart was broken. He broke her heart.”
And what better way to get over all that, than with a major diversion like bringing Jack back to Salem and his loved ones.
“Eve’s back to cause trouble,” says DePaiva. “And it’s so good.”
