The people of Salem came together to celebrate MLK Day. Paulina (Jackée Harry) did a podcast and got through it with Abe’s (James Reynolds) help. Chanel (Raven Bowens), Jada (Elia Cantu), and Rafe (Galen Gering) got real about what they have had to deal with as people of color with Johnny (Carson Boatman). Leo (Greg Rikaart) delivered a message to Chad (Billy Flynn) and Everett (Blake Berris) with his heartfelt column about gay rights. Nicole (Arianne Zucker) was kind to give a very nervous Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) advice about Marlena (Deidre Hall) as a mother-in-law. (There is no extended recap due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.)

Sloan drank too much wine which sent her dinner party with Marlena and John (Drake Hogesyn) off the rails. Harris (Steve Burton) led a police raid of The Bistro. Kate blasts Harris for Lucas getting a beatdown. Harris also has to deal with Clyde (James Read). EJ, Eric, and Maggie said goodbye to Nicole and Holly.
