Will Xander Cook and Chloe Lane make it?
DAYS spoilers made it seem like Xander catching Chloe hiding Philip might be a stumbling block in their relationship, but that could show they were still as solid as ever after the reveal.
So does that mean it’s smooth sailing for the couple moving forward? Does the path of true love ever run smoothly in Salem? What about the path of love the one you’re with?
Xander (Paul Telfer) knows about Chloe’s (Nadia Bjorlin) past with Philip. Can you blame him for thinking she might still be carrying a torch for her high-school love?
Xander knows about Chloe’s past with Brady (Eric Martsolf). Can you blame him for thinking she might be carrying a torch for the guy she only broke up with because his daughter is a spoiled brat?
Most of all, Chloe knows about her past with both Philip and Brady. And she knows both of those relationships were much more real than whatever it is she’s pretending to have with Xander now.
But, in the end, Chloe’s feelings for Brady and Philip won’t be the cause of her break-up with Xander. The much bigger issue is Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). Not just that Xander is so obviously still in love with Sarah. Not just that Sarah is still so obviously in love with Xander. The true obstacle is that Sarah is pregnant with Xander’s child, about to deliver at any minute and, once she does, both will be forced to admit how they really feel.
Chloe isn’t Nicole (Arianne Zucker). She has no problem being a stepmother. She was fine with Rachel (Finley Rose Slater) before the child turned into a bad seed. She could have put up with a baby. But, she won’t be able to put up with the tot’s parents still pining for each other. It’s the end of the road for Xander and Chloe.
