Will Belle Black Brady risk her marriage?
DAYS spoilers showed us a Belle proud of her husband for admitting he needed help. But she’s still not thrilled with how Shawn has been pushing her away ever since he accidentally shot Bo, then decided that the tragedy also made him responsible for Victor’s death in a plane crash. There is just so supportive a wife can be when her husband is acting like a jerk before she looks around for other options. Are those options named Philip?
Belle (Martha Madison) has stood by Shawn (Brandon Beemer) for quite a bit. Hey, remember that time he said he didn’t have sex with Jan when the devil helped her turn into Belle, but he actually did and then she was pregnant and they thought the baby was Shawn’s but it wasn’t? Yeah. They don’t write a lot of marriage manuals about that. Belle was flying blind. But she did it. They may have temporarily split up and she may have temporarily slept with EJ. But then they both got over it.
And why did Belle turn to EJ? Because her traditional backup guy, Philip, wasn’t around. He was obsessing over Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) and Brady (Eric Marstolf), and then he was faking his death. So, his social calendar was pretty full. But now Philip is back. And Shawn is wallowing in self-pity. Some would say the stage is set for…
The stage is set for Belle to turn to Philip…but only as a friend. Yeah, she won’t be going down that road again. The last time resulted in confusion over Claire’s paternity. Nobody enjoyed that. Belle has too much invested in her and Shawn’s relationship, and there is way too much water under the bridge between her and Philip to give romance another try. He’ll be there for her. However, he won’t be responsible for what Shawn believes is happening.
