The devil came down to Salem, he was looking for a soul to steal… Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) was the perfect host, his favorite host. Now that the devil has Marlena where he wants, in his grips, he isn’t going to give her up easily.
The devil is ready to wreak havoc on the town, and sweet, innocent, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) is his next victim. Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) tries his best to save his love from harm’s way, but Doug isn’t as quick as he once was. Mardevil appears to get the one up on Doug, when Days of our Lives spoilers show Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers) and Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) console Julie about Doug.
Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) takes a break from her own love life to play Cupid for another couple. She teams up with Abe Carver (James Reynolds) to assist him in setting up a romantic surprise proposal for her mother, Paulina Price (Jackée Harry). Chanel’s run as Cupid doesn’t last long, as she mistakingly cuts the romance short for Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) and Lani Price Grant (Sal Stowers).
Holding true to her word, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) explores every avenue to get Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) sprung from the slammer. Staying on the straight and narrow hasn’t worked so far, so Gwen pulls out her bag of tricks and decides it is time to play dirty. Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) confronts the judge, and the duo knows Xander’s freedom is so close they can taste it. Will anything come between Xander and his freedom?
Xander made the most of his arrest and made Gwen his girlfriend. The two shared a hot kiss while plotting their next move. There was no way Gwen was going to let her man go down for any crime.
Ciara wants a baby but Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) is not ready. Not by a long shot. The mere thought caused Ben to have a nightmare about their future son. He dreamt he passed his killer genes onto little Bo who strangled a babysitter. Ciara finally agreed to put the baby talk on hold.
Something about Doug bothered Marlena and she listened to the tapes of their session. She heard the Devil’s voice and realized what was going on. At the same time, Doug did all he could to warn John Black (Drake Hogestyn) the Devil was back and inside Marlena.
