When word first trickled out about Allie coming back to Days of our Lives pregnant, fans didn’t know what to think. The character was born onscreen in 2007, and viewers were pretty sure she wasn’t going to be 13. That would be a bit of a bridge too far, even for DAYS.
We figured she’d be 16 or 17, too young to be a mother, but still, a legal child, which means Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) would have quite a bit to say about her future.
But when Allie did show up in Salem, played by daytime newcomer Lindsay Arnold, she said she’d already graduated from college, and had been lying to Sami about looking for a job. Which means she was more like 22 or 23. A legal adult who had nothing to fear from Sami or Lucas.
So why is Allie acting as she does? And why is she refusing to name her baby’s father? Is it because the answer would drive her family crazy – whether or not they have anything to say about it?
We’re thinking someone who hasn’t been on the canvas within the proper time frame, yet might have shown up in London during DAYS’ missing year?
Uhm… Tripp (Lucas Adams)? But he left town on good terms with his stepmother, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), and the rest of the family. So why would Allie be keeping him a desperate secret?
Jake (Brandon Barash), who showed up out of nowhere and seems to have a bit of a shady past. Maybe he’s spent time in Europe… being forced to lose his memory of life as Stefan?
But what if this is a really icky situation? Allie is really mad at Sami. What if she slept with… EJ (James Scott)? That’s something NEITHER parent would be able to stomach!
