Days of Our Lives spoilers don’t reveal much about what might be happening in Africa with ‘Father’ Eric but Soap Hub thinks his exit was rather rushed and sudden and perhaps there was more going on there than meets the eye.

Didn’t it seem strange that a woman Eric had not heard from in years just showed up outside his apartment door one day and implored him to return to Africa because her people just needed him so? Didn’t it also seem a little too convenient?
Well, what if it was a trap? What if Eric made himself a few enemies in Africa after spending so long there years ago and someone is out for revenge? Has Nicole (Arianne Zucker) heard much from her husband since he left? We don’t think so as she’s been very concerned about Allie’s (Lindsay Arnold) life and baby. (Yes, that could happen off-screen, but for these dramatic potential storyline purposes, let’s say that she hasn’t.)

Soon, Nicole might learn from Eric’s ‘friend’ that he’s been kidnapped and after weeks of searching, they might believe his body was found and he’s presumed dead. If Greg Vaughan does not intend to return to the soap any time soon, this leaves Nicole a very lonely and free woman.
It could also lead her into her own mystery story trying to figure out exactly what happened to the man she’s loved more than half her life. This would leave Allie on her own to raise her baby and Nicole into a more adult story that brings out the Nicole who takes no prisoners. Perhaps on her journey to find Eric, she finds someone new (or even someone she’s been with before and is new to her current life). Of course, in typical soap fashion, Eric will then turn up alive and Nicole will be in quite a quandary.
Rather than leaving Nicole hanging as a supporting player for too long, this could be just the ticket to bring some drama into her life. Stay tuned… Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
