Dr. Marlena Evans wasn’t herself for multiple months on Days of our Lives. It’s not that the shrink cracked under the strain of living in Salem and dealing with everyone else’s problems. It’s that she was possessed by the devil….literally.
Days of our Lives Polling
It was the Devil who sent Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) to the looney bin, kept Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) from him, convinced Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) to conceive a devil baby with wife Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal), expose Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) baby secret, and a whole host of other misdeeds. But should it be Marlena (Deidre Hall) who is forced to apologize for it? Here’s what DAYS fans had to say.
DAYS: Personal Responsibility
Marlena doesn’t owe anybody an apology, a majority 52% of you insist. But, being Marlena, she will likely feel compelled to do so, anyway. That’s what makes her special. And that’s what makes her so beloved that the Devil had no luck holding onto her, once her entire family stood up to fight off his influence. Something Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) is less likely to experience…especially if he keeps acting the way he’s been acting.
Days of our Lives: Do the Right Thing
Marlena may not have been in complete control of her faculties, but she did cause a lot of people a lot of pain. And she owes them an apology, 33% of fans say, because it’s the right thing to do, and Dr. Evans always does the right thing. She is always setting an example. Even for the Devil.
DOOL: Fault Less
Only a last place 15% of the audience think Marlena should just act like nothing ever happened. She didn’t do those bad things, the Devil did. Let him apologize. Since it looks like, thanks to Johnny, they’ll be chatting again…sooner or later.
