After a several-month absence from social media, Days of Our Lives’ Tyler Christopher is posting once more. Following a recent status update in which he visited his mother’s grave, Christopher is now quoting a writer during these challenging times.
Welcome Back, Tyler Christopher
“Times are hard no matter what your circumstances,” posted Christopher. “I say to myself daily; ‘I am the master of my fate.’ ‘I am the captain of my soul.’ Now go live it.” The lines are from the poem Invictus by William Ernest Henley. It was written in 1875 and published in 1888 in Book of Verses, Henley’s first volume of poems.
Christopher, as previously reported, departed his role as Stefan on Days of Our Lives in 2019 to take care of some personal issues. One of his last public appearances was at the 2019 Daytime Emmys in Pasadena, Calif. Christopher was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Stefan.
In 2016, he won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Nikolas Cassadine on GH. That role has since been recast with daytime newcomer Marcus Coloma, who made his Port Charles debut last Halloween. Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny, GH) was tapped to take over Christopher’s role as Stefan O. DiMera on DAYS. The character was killed off, but Barash returned to the show this week.
One of Christopher’s former leading ladies, Maura West (Ava, GH), responded to the actor’s post with: “💘Love to you!!!!!”
Christopher’s other supporters weighed in with words of encouragement. “Nice to see you,” wrote @christine_cocorochio. “Stay safe and healthy.”
“Looking good Tyler!” wrote @huggkimberly. “Best wishes to you and your family.”
“You look fantastic!” posted @jillharrismaleson. “Praying for your health.” Added @jaj1020: “So happy to see that you are posting again Tyler. 🙏🏻🤗.”
At press time, Christopher amassed over 4,000 “hearts” on his post. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check local listings for air times.
