EJ DiMera was “murdered” in 2014, but Days of Our Lives fans have since learned the character is alive and well.

Initially, Sami (Alison Sweeney) began receiving messages that led her to believe her husband had survived his tragic shooting, although she was never able to track him down.

Then, in 2017, Kristen (Eileen Davidson) muttered to herself that EJ was indeed out there and very much alive. Talk about EJ has since stopped, but maybe it shouldn’t have.

Soap Hub asked fans if EJ should just be recast already instead of all this cryptic nonsense. How do DAYS viewers feel about the handsome DiMera returning to the fold in the form of a new actor? Here’s what you had to say.

If James Scott, who created the character, can’t return you’d welcome a new actor in the role. EJ is a pivotal member of the DiMera family and he’s been sorely missed.

Plus, Sami deserves to be reunited with her husband, and their children, Johnny and Sydney, need their father.

Meanwhile, 42% of fans do not want to see an EJ recast under any circumstances. The character has been “dead” for over three years, and you think he should stay that way.

Sami and her kids have moved on. However, if the character were to resurface, a newbie actor wouldn’t cut it in the role. You’d only accept one person playing EJ, and that’s the incomparable James Scott.
